Slide Shows
Slide shows are one of the most common educational tools, and one that I make use of fairly regularly. I often use the most common program, PowerPoint, but I have also found some of the alternative programs fun and sometimes more versatile, depending on the situation. Tools like Prezi and SlideRocket allows you to save your information to "the cloud" so you have access to it wherever you have an internet connection. I think this is awesome, because we have always seen those situations where the file gets corrupted, or their thumb drive or CD isn't working. They are also cool because they are free for basic use.
I found Sliderocket really intuitive and it's use is a lot like PowerPoint. They also allow you to upload something you have made in PowerPoint and turn it into a Sliderocket. So far I have only used the free version, which has enough capabilities for my needs. Find their site here, if you are interested in trying them out.
Prezi takes a little bit of getting used to, because it is so different from the "tradition" PowerPoint model, but it has some interesting possibilities. Try it out here.
